Schuylkill Haven, PA (Schuylkill County) is located 89 miles northwest of Philadelphia in the heart of the Anthracite Coal Region.
Located at the southern end of the county, Schuylkill Haven, PA lies on a total area of 1.4 square miles and is home to 5,800 citizens.

Schuylkill Haven, PA Settlement
Prior to the establishment of Schuylkill Haven by Europeans, the region was occupied by a Native American tribe known as Lenape but referred to as Delaware Indians by their British occupiers.
On March 5th, 1750 – the day famously known as Schuylkill Haven’s unofficial founding – John Fincher of Chester County, Pennsylvania was granted 225 acres (0.91 km2) as its first settler.
A Quaker by faith and a pioneer in spirit, Fincher began building the town that would become one of America’s most beloved small towns rooted in history and tradition.
Along the Schuylkill River, Fincher created a homestead with a house and barn, christening his new abode “Fincher’s Ford.”

Additionally, Route 61, a heavily traveled 4-lane highway, runs north to south through the heart of the borough with more than 30,000 vehicles passing through this corridor daily.
