This past weekend, the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department officers dedicated 16 hours to an elevator rescue training class due to the rising number of elevator emergencies in our area.
The SHFD was able to proactively identify key elevator locations, elevator-specific challenges, and preplan access in case of an emergency.
The training equipped members with techniques for safe and efficient elevator rescues, including handling servo car door operators, car door restrictors, and power control mechanisms.
This training session exemplifies our commitment to providing top-tier safety services to our community.
Special thanks to Sam Clark for conducting this invaluable class.
